Terrific congratulations! How vast will be your distribution!
Thanks!! Distribution in papers will totally depend on how much I can encourage people to look at it online during the upcoming year.
Holy wow - that's great! I'll be sure to book mark it. LOL, yes us artists know rejection, but you just gotta keep plugging away. Brace yourself - it's going to be interesting. You soooooooo deserve this! Whooooo!
Thank you!! It's going to be a lot of work, but I hope at some point I'll be able to make a living as a cartoonist.

Thank you Lorena!!!
whoooot! congratulations, luv.
Congrats! That is wonderful news!
Are you currently featured in any papers? I think your work would fit in quite well in the alternative paper I write for. Do you get to choose where your cartoon is distributed?
Thanks so much!!
Yes, it's in some publications like Z magazine, Eat the State, Asheville Global Report, Against the Current and some others, and also online at a few sites like Working for Change.
I'd love it if you can influence the paper where you work to carry it too! What paper is it? Now they'll have to get it through United, but I think that wouldn't be too hard. I'd have to find out exactly how that works.
That is sooooooo awesome! Congrats!
Yay! I surf selected bits at comics.com every day, so I'll be sure to add you to my list over there!
Congratulations, Stephanie! And great timing, because one of the comics.com strip I read (Barkeater Lake by Corey Pandolph) will end around the time "Minimum Security" will show up, so it's good to see I immediately have a strip to fill in that slot.
Oh, I'm sorry one of your favorites is ending, but thank you very much for planning to replace it with mine in your reading schedule!!
Congratulations, Steph. You deserve the break.
OK. New Year's Resolution: Set home page to comics.com and give Steph a few clicks before starting work each day.
That's so nice! Thank you very much for that!
What the heck? Justice in America? In 2006????
Thank you Richard! And best of luck to you with your upcoming newspaper launch!!! I hope it goes really well!
Here is a hint: If you can get an RSS feed set up for your comic at comicalert.com (for example Dilbert and Get Fuzzy both have RSS feeds and they are with comics.com), an LJ syndication feed can be set up that points to it. You can then post the link and ask your readers to "friend" the syndication feed too. This guarantees that every single one of your current LJ friends will generate a daily "hit" and we'll enjoy all the comics we get to read! :) You're listed there as "pending" right now. Keep an eye on it. Having an RSS feed is gold.
Thank you for this! It sounds brilliant and very useful. I don't really understand RSS feeds, but I'll look into what you're talking about. It sounds like a great idea!
Just adding to the pile:
CONGRATULATIONS! Woo! :)
Thanks -- I appreciate that!!!
Right on, Mac!
I will make sure to click well and often. If you make sure to announce your updates i will repost those announcements in my lj where an additional 300+ readers will see it. Some of them are pretty devoted and will click on your comic if i ask them nicely.
I'll ask them nicely.
This is so cool.
I have been a huge fan of your amazing comic ever since i first saw it and have just been waiting for the rest of the world to notice as well.
It will be really really cool for you to make your living with this, but as cool or cooler will be the fact that you will be able to affect the way people think. And we do need more people to think like you do.
Thank you Matt!! That would be so great if you re-post so your friends can click on the cartoons -- I really appreciate that! And you're right, having more exposure to spread ideas is the most important thing (though if I can also make a living at it, I'll have more time to make even more cartoons...) It'll be quite a while before that could become possible, though.
Awesome, now the whole world will enjoy your comics as much as I do.
I hope it ends up that way! Thank you.
I'm so happy for you! What a wonderful accomplishment! Congratulations. :)
I appreciate that, thank you!
Congrats, Stephanie! Couldn't happen to a nicer person...
Thanks so much!! How are you doing, "Ben"?
Congratulations! As someone who spends far too much of his time reading online comics, I know a good strip when I see it, and I love the biting humour in your comic. I know plenty of other people will too.
Thank you for saying that -- it's very encouraging!
I'm glad to hear it's official now:)
Thank you Guppy! I'm glad to have the contract finally signed and in my hands.
